“At that moment, I understood the power of photography as a medium, a source of emotions, and a base for memories and exploration.”
One day, I had the privilege of capturing bridal photographs for a cancer patient who had been given a life prognosis of a maximum of two weeks. In just a few hours, we organized everything with the help of her friends and husband. We managed to borrow a bridal dress that I had initially intended to use for a styled promotional shoot.
The photoshoot took place within the hospital environment, an unconventional setting for such moments. However, her desire to have the photos taken was so strong that neither the circumstances nor her immediate pain deterred her.
Collaborating with a friend, we also captured some Polaroid snapshots and promptly compiled an album that the bride could see instantly. On that very day, I edited and sent her the digital photographs, ensuring she could view her cherished moments without any delay.
At that moment, I understood the power of photography as a medium, a source of emotions, and a base for memories and exploration.
The bride's happiness and gratitude for the entire process were palpable, amplified even more when she laid eyes on the final photographs.
From that transformative experience, a deep aspiration arose within me to utilize photography for the betterment of others and the local community.
